A guide to API 5L PSL1 X60


API 5L X60 PSL 1 grade's requirement is a part of API 5L Specification for Line Pipe. Stronger grades have the designation X followed by the specified minimum yield strength of the pipe steel, measured in kilo pounds per square inch. Standard Line Pipe has grade A and grade B. 
Application: fluid transportation and gas transportation and other applications.

The specified standards and materials were ASTM A53 GR.B, with a diameter of 2”, wall thickness SCH40, and a length of 6 meters. The total order was for approximately 130 tons of one specification, with the pipe ends to be threaded and accompanied by couplings and caps for use in well pressure testing at the project site. Due to the approaching end of the year, the client requested that all materials be shipped within 30 days to avoid delays due to the Chinese New Year holiday.
